In this section of our website you should be able to find all the basics needed to make your own bath and body products. We've tried to put them together in a logical order, with bath bomb mix and soap base, butters and oil and then salts and clays etc.
If you purchased one of our fabulous kits, you may still have moulds or other ingredients that you'd like to use to make more wonderful products, so you will find all the bits and bobs from our kits in this section.
Bath Bomb Mix
The 2 basic ingredients for making bath bombs is Sodium Bicarbonate and Citric Acid. Spray them with water and mould them and you don't need anything else! We have those ingredients in a variety of sizes up to 10 Kilos - comes packaged in resealable 1k bags.
We use a 2:1 ratio so you need twice the amount of sodium to citric.
SLS FREE Melt & Pour Soap Base
In either Clear or Opaque this SLS Free, glycerine based, Melt & Pour soap base is really good value. Soap base comes in a rough block and can be cut into small pieces and melted (either in a pan on the hob or in the microwave in short bursts). You can then add fragrance and colour and pour into a mould. Once you soap has hardened and cooled you can pop it out of the mould and use your soap.
Buy Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter or Coconut Butter which can all be added to Bath bombs for a more luxurious product. Mix them together with oils to make body butters or lip balms - whip them with an electric whisk to make a fluffy, whipped body butter. Cocoa butter can even be whipped and piped on top of bath muffins to make frosting - this is a tricky procedure and takes practice, but produces a fantastic result.
Oils & Vegetable Glycerine
Pure Jojoba, Sweet Almond & Coconut Oils in a variety of sizes. If you want to make your bath bombs with Oil you will only need about 15mls, so a 50ml bottle will keep you going for a while. Oils can be used in body butter and lip balms to make a less solid mixture - depending on how you like your products. Glycerine is used in body butters and face creams to help the softening properties. It is a water based product so not suitable for bath bombs.
Please be aware of nut allergies when selecting your oil.
Salts and other Basics
Dead Sea Salt & Epsom Salt can be added to Bath Bombs as a water softener and de-toxifier. Adding Epsom Salts to bath bombs can speed the drying process and can make producing bombs a little easier.
Clays & Seaweeds
Clays, Muds & Seaweeds are perfect for a variety of products including making Face Masks, adding to soap or bath bombs. They are all rich in minerals and anti-oxidants & when mixed with floral waters, they make perfect face masks, for those with allergies.
