Hi everyone, I'm very new to soap making, I wonder if anyone has good recipes/advice when making soap icing. Thanks

Hi there. I don't make soap so can't help; I'm afraid but Jude is usually on later this evening or Lilly first thing in the morning, either are excellent counsellors in this field. I just wanted to welcome you here. By the way, I just sew.

Hi Shellebelle,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you..been a busy bee the last few days.

If you are using Melt & Pour soap and have a bit of experience with it, you can, just about, combine it with Cocoa Butter for make a pipable substance, but it is very tricky.

If you are doing cold processed soaps then using the room temp whipped soap method can (or so I believe) give you a mixture that is the consistency of double whipped cream and should be able to use to pipe.

A lot of it is trial and error and I'll warn you that you are likely to waste a lot of soap trying ...
Just one of those things I'm afraid until you find what works for you.

A word of caution if you're hoping to sell in the Uk (or Europe)...there is a bit of legislation that states you can't make anything that looks like food but isn't food and we know quite a few soapers who have had their soaps seized by trading standards for selling cupcake soaps and similar. So do consult with your local Trading Standards for advice about that kind of product. If it's for gifts for friend, you should be ok - just put a warning label that's it's not edible and not for children.

Hope this helps

Jude
