Whittling is the art of carving a wooden object using simple knives. It is not like woodcarving which uses chisels and a mallet.

In today's Sunday Telegraph is an article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/lifestyle/97 ... tling.html which is worth reading. Dan Watson has taught most of the teachers of whittling in the UK http://www.dwwp.co.uk/./

Also mentioned in the article is Robin Wood, a traditional woodworker using hand powered tools http://www.robin-wood.co.uk/.

Also worth a look is http://www.whittling.com/. Lawrence Spinak is certainly very talented, but does not sell any of his creations. See what he has created http://www.whittling.com/MyWork/my_work[1].htm - but be warned it is a slow loading page.

Now where's my penknife?

Roger
